Jaime Evans, DOMP, RMO
Manual Osteopath
Owner
A Gander native, Jaime was heavily involved in extra-curricular activities. This spiked her interest in the human body as she witnessed its capabilities when she suffered injuries and had to seek therapy.
While working as a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant, Jaime was introduced to the field of Osteopathy. After enrolling in, and graduating with honours, the Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) in Toronto ON, she was able to introduce osteopathy to Central NL.
Jaime has completed additional courses to strengthen her osteopathic knowledge such as Obstetric Osteopathy with CAIH, CranioSacral Therapy 1, & 2 and SomatoEmotional Release 1 with the Upledger Institute and Visceral Manipulation 1 with the Barral Institute. Jaime also has certification to practice Cupping Therapy, and Cold Laser Therapy. She is currently taking continuing education courses to Pregnancy and Postpartum Rehabilitation and Canine Osteopathy in order to help her patients better.
Jaime is in good standing with the Canadian Union of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, the Osteopathic and Naprapathic Association of Newfoundland & Labrador, the Canadian Manual Osteopathic Association and is an affiliate of the Osteopathy Chronic Pain Clinics of Canada. Additionally, Jaime is the NL Representative for the ACMA Association. More recently, Jaime has become part of the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths.
Jaime was the 2021 Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the NLOWE Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Evexia Osteopathy was awarded the Customer Service Award for the 2020/2021 Gander & Area Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards. In 2020, Jaime was recognized by the Gander & Area Chamber of Commerce as a Top 3 Candidate for the Women in Business Award. In 2022, Jaime was named to the Board of Directors for the Gander & Area Chamber of Commerce.
Jaime enjoys hiking, camping and mountain biking with her husband and 2 dogs when weather allows, and in the colder months she enjoys snowboarding and snowmobiling. Her favourite passtime is curling up on the couch with her dogs and diving in to a good book.
Sean Anstey, MScPT, BScKin, DOMP, RMO
Manual Osteopath
Sean grew up in Twillingate, Newfoundland. His life has revolved around different sports & exercise. He is very passionate about helping people reach their full potential.
Sean completed his Osteopathy training in Toronto, Ontario and attained with honours the Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP). He has a strong background in strength & conditioning along with exercise prescription. He has worked with youth to seniors over the years, designing programs for health and wellness as well as sport specific programs in many different sports, especially off ice programs for hockey that have included players at the junior & university level. With over 20 years of experience in the health, wellness and rehabilitation fields, he brings a wealth of knowledge. Beside his DOMP designation, he has a Master’s of Science degree in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology. He has experience working with various neurological and orthopaedic conditions.
Sean did his Master’s research on the effects of a group exercise & education program on physical function & health status in the Canadian Armed Forces personnel with chronic low back pain.
After going through his own injuries in his early 20’s, he took an interest in the rehabilitation field and after suffering chronic pain due to a hockey injury, Sean seeked out Osteopathy. It was something that peeked his interest. He is a huge proponent of movement education and pain science.
Throughout Sean’s academic career, he has always had a keen interest in expanding knowledge about the human body through functional anatomy & biomechanics. He has a lifelong commitment to furthering his education and has an unwavering passion to making a positive impact on people’s lives through evidence-based manual therapy. He believes the key to improved healthcare is education & awareness along with empowering his clients to be active participants in their rehabilitation and working with them to address their unique rehabilitation goals.
In his free time, Sean enjoys playing ice and ball hockey, running and CrossFit. He also enjoys going for hikes & walks with his wife and their goldendoodle Sophie.
